I have been experimenting in Grayscale a little bit and although this is not devoid of color I like the subtle effects. Your eyes are drawn to shadow and contrast a lot more when working without a lot of color. I find that you have to ponder on the subject imagery more and fill in the blanks with imagination. Collage Noir!

Oh wow mystical black and white art.
ReplyDeleteFantastic design Lori. I love it.
Beautiful, the pearls look real and I love the turtle!
ReplyDeleteIt IS amazing how the absence of color makes your notice subtle differences in patterns and textures. Beautiful, Lori! Hugs, Terri xoxo
ReplyDeleteCollage Noir: too funny. I was drawn immediately to the top star fish, which I might have missed had this been in a different color palette. Wonderful interpretation of a sea scape.
ReplyDeleteFunny how the eye works - I didn't spot that face for ages, yet she is so big! My eye was certainly drawn to the turtle first then I followed the pearl bubbles across the page...
ReplyDeleteWow, the digital collage is still kind of a mystery to me. I think I'm still on the very basics of photoshop. You do such nice work and the B&W is intriguing.

I love everything you do on your blog! It really is a great one with so many interesting images.
ReplyDeleteI love this. As I first looked and saw the top layers, I thought, "how unusual for Lori to do a piece without a face or figure in it." But then she emerged before my eyes like a sea creature emerging from the depths.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, a superb piece of art!
Amazing work of art...I like your layers!
ReplyDeleteI really liked looking at this, to see what I could see. When you are using just these colors, it's a bit like looking at clouds and besides seeing the main images, I could see other images in the shadowsthat someone else might not.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The pearls do look very real :)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Lori!
