The theme at the Three Muses this week is "Words". In creating this piece I got to thinking about how important words are. How many times I wish that I had chosen my words more carefully. I wish I could take some back. We are not all sages or wise owls but if only we could speak from our hearts , less from our minds and with more care.
Imagery for this digital collage is from Artchix, Christine Rennee, Tim Holtz art papers and Lorie Davison.

Ahhh, I am the "Queen of Foot in Her Mouth", there are many words I wish I could have taken back. I might have a totally different life now! I love your take on the challenge. Cute owl, lol, and I love the background. Great piece!
ReplyDeleteWise words indeed, Lori! I love mixing words and imagery in art. You've done it splendidly here. I love the rich colors as well. They say Fall to me and give me energy. Wonderful work!

ReplyDeleteThis is lovely,Lori...wonderful art piece.
ReplyDeleteGreat image and art work
ReplyDeleteMy sentiment exactly it's so easy to let words fly before you give them some thought. Beautiful post Lori art and words!!!
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, sometimes a hurt heart may tell things we wouldn't if our mind was in command... Never mind, words of wisdom is what we need. Clever and fun entry, Lori.

I love this--the rich brown colors-the letters and the owl--wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMan. There have been lots of words I wish I could take back. Excellent collage! The owl is perfect for this challenge. After looking at your color scheme, I guess there's little I can do but accept fall is right around the corner.
ReplyDeleteThat is the best Owl ever!

Ah, "with more care", therein lies the rub! The topic for my writing group this month is "A cup of restraint", and I'm reminded I need to practice it. I'm known for being blunt (to put it kindly)! Anyway, this is a beautiful piece, Lori. You always put so much thought into your beautiful art. I really appreciate that.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and original take on "words" and a wonderful, thoughtful piece on the theme.
ReplyDeleteWise words with rich colours & design, Lori, another masterpiece!
ReplyDeleteI love your art Lori! This is a wonderful piece. Rich autumny colours and I love that owl. Wise words indeed. xx
ReplyDeleteA wonderful piece of art, lori
ReplyDeleteReally wonderful.
ReplyDeleteReally wise words, Lori and the art is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYes, Lori, it would be so nice if we could take back a few of our ill chosen words from our past but since we can't, we must use the word, "forgive" and forgive ourselves. Using the wise old owl to remind us to be wise in our words was clever for this page. Nice touch!
ReplyDeletefantastic artwork - and well, wise words anyway!
ReplyDeleteIt seems you have hit the nail on the head so to speak with what you have said, Lori. I think we all wish we could think a little harder sometimes before we say what we do. Your collage, which has even more impact when enlarged, is the perfect accompaniment to your words ...... and I love the autumn colours too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Lori..i love magical owls...yours is so enchanting,,beautiful word as always..also am drawn to the color-vibe of this! and I love what you said..powerful and true..the power of our word can hinder or heal..and yes our heart is always the best voice to speak from!..Thanks for inspiring me today..and these powerful insights!
