This is my entry for the Three Muses Challenge this week "Maps". Thoughts of world travel and the mystery of the unkown has I believe always been a part of Women's dreams and yearnings but was not always available if practical in the past. Ties to family and "duty" came first in many women's lives and their imaginings of experiencing the world were put on hold due to fear and suppression from men. This digital collage speaks to those moments of daydreams and wanderings. Imagery from Dover books, Rosey Posey and Rebecca McMeen at scrapbookgraphics all blended and layered in Photoshop Elements.

ReplyDeleteyou always find the best ingredients for your divine mixtures!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and serene. I just love the way you manipulate your women images just enough to make them a bit otherwordly. And your words are a bit of a meditation on the theme. Wonderfully done!

Stunning Lori!
ReplyDeleteThis is superb, Lori. I can identify with the area you have chosen. Australia is included as part of Oceania which is strange for someone living on the west coast 3,000 miles away from the Pacific Ocean.
ReplyDeleteI dream of going to Paris, but that sure isn't going to happen, either. And I'm not a woman! But you're right. Why should women have to stay home while the men run off to sea and have all the fun? Let them try having a baby! Oh dear. Scratch that. What a stupid thing to write. I seem to be getting wordy today. Fantastic collage! :^)
