Secret Garden Window


This is my entry for the Sunday Postcard Art Challenge where the theme is "windows". This is a digital postcard I made from a scanned photo I took of a stained glass window that we built into our home in Mill Valley many years ago. When we sold the house the window stayed of course but I have always missed it. It was a vintage window from England- we could barely afford it but it was very special with a lot of clear light and beautiful panels. The image is from Dover and I wanted to create a little mystery -looking from the outside in.

    It does look mysterious-and pretty. I love stained glass and like it when it is in houses-especially victorian and 1930s types.

    I think it's lovely that although you don't have the physical window anymore, you're still using it in your art - rather like having an old friend pop round for tea! You definitely captured some mystery with this.

    This is a beautiful effect, Lori. I would have hated to lose a window like that. It looks like it was awesome! I love this piece!

    This if fabulous, Lori, what a fabulous window. You were wise to take a photo. We Restored a turn-of-the-century years ago, with stained glass and lead windows but I didn't have the forethought you had...my loss..I will enjoy yours, okay?     Really lovely postcard, very atmospheric. I had a fireplace like your window, that I loved but had to leave behind. Unfortunately I never took a photo of it.
