Maidenhair


As I write this post, the first storm has hit us here on the coast of California bringing lots of (needed) rain but wow this is more like the middle of January! It is however cozy and conducive to making some art. This is my entry for this week's challenge at The Three Muses - ( Hair). I made a digital collage using a face image from (Dover), assorted snips of artist paper and my maiden's hair is made from some antique fern images that I cropped, colored and arranged . Organic hairstyling! I added gradient filters for a "mossy" feel to the piece.

    She's beautiful & the fern in her hair gives her a magical feel! Great job Lori, I'm here in SO CAL & were getting our storm today too. Very rainy & foggy & misty, A fun day to stay home & play!! :)

    lori, you always amaze me with your entries. i think the way you created her hair is so cool! AND i saw on the news tonight about the rain in calif. and the sudden mud slides. may you be safe from harm!

    There's something very cosy about creating in a storm. I love your maidenhair fern. Is it fern with a maiden's face or maiden's face with fern for hair?? Whatever... it's really rather lovely.
