This is my entry for The Three Muses challenge this week "Wings on things". This is a digital collage showing a young woman viewing herself in a wishing pool and seeing her reflection with "wings" as she would dream to have. All images from (Dover)- cropped and digitally colored. I had fun learning about juxtaposition and mirror imagery in this piece.

Very clever the mirror imagery, Lori, this is a very magical piece - delightful!
ReplyDeleteLori, you never cease to amaze me with your creativity. You are always thinking outside the frame and it shows in your beautiful artwork. I love the idea of the girl, without wings, seeing her reflection in the pool, with wings. It makes such an impact - probably because we all wish we could just fly away some time in our lives.
ReplyDeleteFantastic!!

This is so beautiful! And so funny (coinkydink funny). My favorite book as a child was The Little Rabbit Who Wished for Red Wings. I still have it. It's about a little rabbit who looked into the wishing pool, made his wish, turned around three times and got his wings. But then no one knew who he was, not even his mother, and he learned that just having wings didn't help him know how to fly. So, we wished them off again. I think of that book often as I make my fairies and in fact made a piece inspired by it today too. But, this, with the beautiful pool of water and reflection, is just stunning! Very, very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLori, this is such a lovely image x
