Okay school wasn't always this dark and foreboding but we all had our fears as the new kid. A little fun here with imagery from Finecrafted designs, DCWV artist papers, Holliewood and a little Harry Potter thrown in there too. For the
Three Muses challenge "School Days".
Oh, this is just wonderful. Captures the spooky spirit of being the new kid in a very scary place. Great work, Lori!
ReplyDeleteWOw, this is so cool and creepy! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great piece, Lori. I'm sure this little guy is thinking "There be goblins here"! Delightful "take" on the challenge!
ReplyDeleteLove the eeriness of your piece, Lori, he certainly looks lost, perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeing the new kid IS kinda scary! Well rendered!
ReplyDeleteWell, I did. First day in a new school is always a bit scary. I love that you did something a little somber but also fun for this challenge.
ReplyDeleteOK. What do I Love the most about this. The sense of foreboding. The crown on the bird's head. The golden apple. I could go on and on...
ReplyDeleteYou've captured the overpowering feeling of foreboding so perfectly. Wonderful, atmospheric artwork.
ReplyDeleteWow this rock.

ReplyDeleteA fabulously striking piece, Lori, and a little bit dark too, and I'm loving the long view right into the background. It feels as though I could walk right in.
ReplyDeleteThis is great Lori! I don't know, it looks pretty cheery compared to my school days! Thank you for reminding me that after all these years, I can be very happy to still not be going back to school!!!
ReplyDeleteBetty
Such an imaginative collage. You have captured the first day of school with all the trama and mystery.
ReplyDeleteI went to twelve different schools, and lucky for me being the new kid wasn't quite this bad. I do think your piece expresses, though, what institutions do to creativity. School is a dark place for inspiration.
