Art Journal

Ah it's Friday. Time for my quiet Friday morning pajama art session. All week I'm kind of rushing to get out and get things done but not Friday. I could stay in jammies all day and play at my art table or do digital art. This is a digital envisioning of an art journal cover. A bit worn and rustic with metal effects and patina. This piece came together magically again because I just let it happen. I've been struggling with pieces based on themes and just surrendered to what I 'felt' like doing. Now I'm ready to face the day!

  2. I have found that challenges take more time coming up with a piece to fit the theme, than it takes to make the actual piece. This piece shows how creative you are all on your own, without any theme guidance. I would work in this book. Especially since it's digital (grin).

  3. I've tried to do a couple of the challenges recently and ended up throwing in the towel before I'd finished. I think I was trying too hard to impress and ended up frustrated with what I'd produced.

I love your work and always enjoy seeing what you come up with next.

  4. Lori, I am so pleased to hear that i am not the only person who works in her PJs...sometimes ALL day!!! I don't have as much time as I'd like to participate in challenges but I find them really helpful when I'm at a loss for a theme and am constantly delighted by the clever responses that I see in challenge galleries.
This is a beautiful cover...just want to open it and see what gorgeous things are inside...

  7. Gorgeous! I go into my studio in my pajamas when I get up in the morning--only intending to stay a couple of minutes--some mornings it's 11 o'clock before I get dressed!!

  11. I had a jammie day all day yesterday, It was storming so bad. Mostly packing for a trip north but did fit in some quick poetry word collages for a fellow bloggers birthday.
I really like what you do digitally, I haven't ventured far into that medium yet. Your results are impressive. I certainly have a great stock load of images form my travels to work with. The operative word there was "yet"!
I hope you have a jammin' jammie weekend with lots of creativity.
