Take A Word challenge this week where the theme is "Masculine". If I take a look back through my blog over the past 3 years there is a definate absence of the masculine essence in my work. I don't know why- I'm just drawn to the more feminine aspect in imagery and theme. So this challenge was a good opportunity to explore. When looking for imagery I went to Leonardo Da Vinci as I think of him as a rather masculine artist; with amazing sketches, machines/ inventions, sepia colored work. Sometimes brutal and yet he can capture the soft gentleness of expression in both his female and male drawings. This digital collage (tries) to portray a sketchbook type of rendering ; a coming together of odd yet symbolic objects into a unified whole... or synthesis. Imagery credits go to Dover, Rosey Posey and Dawn Inskip at scrapbookgraphics. Overlay blending with Fresco and gradient filters in PSE.
