Timescape

Lately I've been feeling a bit like this fellow with the presence of time and clocks everywhere; reminding me how little I have of it, how fast it is going by and how I am running out of it. Work has been crazy and I've been so busy trying to get all of my tax work done. Ugh!
I know time is what we perceive and in essence there IS time for everything, but where I get into trouble is balancing time with the things I want to do (make art) and the things I don't want to do (bookwork and property management). So I put down the spreadsheets and made this piece for the challenge at the Three Muses this week where the theme is Time and how we would like to express it.
Imagery credits go to Graphics 45, Holliewood at deviant artscraps, Tim Holtz artist papers.

  1. Oh, I LOVE this, Lori! Such vibrant colors and of course the imagery is perfect. I hear you about the time... it does fly, doesn't it? I marvel at the passing of the weeks, months and years now. Seems like a big blur. Your piece is PERFECTION!

  5. It never seems as though there are enough hours in a day! You've captured that thought beautifully, Lori, with the inclusion of the little White Rabbit! I, too, have been feeling the crunch lately! Hugs, Terri xoxo

  6. Wonderful Art! Your words about time live with me all of the time. I am retired and have lots of time to play but still I know if I could live another 100 years it still wouldn't be enough.

  10. What a great representation of time. Where has it gone? What have we done with it? The concept of time is so intriguing. You have shown that so beautifully in your digital.

  19. I know exactly what you mean! The white rabbit expresses that difficulty perfectly. I love the colours in this picture and the way time seems to stretch down the avenue but he is facing away from it. I hope you get all the boring stuff done soon and can get back to the art! And thanks for the violet comment-they are just so pretty now-almost the only bit of colour out there!

  20. Lori, that's a fantastic piece. I love the Alice theme and my first thought was taking my Alice stamps out of my drawer, but than I took some others. Love the colours you've taken.

  21. I do know what you mean, I feel the same way. Sometimes is quite frustating. Coincidently I took White Rabitt for this theme too. Your interpretation is perfect.

  22. Oh I love this one Lori, such a fun piece and so full of whimsy. The White Rabbit should be a cautionary thought for us all : there is nothing to be gained from rushing around, stop and smell the coffee and make a little art. :D

I have browsed also for a moment through your 100 themes from DW and saw some fantastic images.
But speaking of TIME...it feels so frustrating for me I have not come to it yet.

  27. Another stunning digital collage Lori! The only visual to beat the White Rabbit, would be a hamster on a wheel... and my page was also born of "need" to make time to art. Having to share the small sofa with a large man for 5 evenings when I am normally able to finish off pages in front of the TV was getting unbearable! (And I love our friend, but...) I also consumed way too much chocolate!
