Flora and Fauna

This is my entry for the Take A Word challenge this week where the theme is "Botanical". I created the background to this piece from vintage botanical clippings and text from the Hortus Eystettensis. I cropped, colored and layered flower faeries and frog from a beautiful new set of artist papers from Graphics 45 to create a fun enchanted garden setting. Soft and pin light filters were added in Photoshop.

  1. What a beautiful Fairy piece! I love the feeling of being in the forest with them. The layers are so nicely blended that the effect is perfect. No little frog...no kisses for you, lol. Great job!

  10. "Exquiste' - ('possessing qualities of unusual delicacy & craftsmanship') - is a word I often use to describe your art, Lori, perfect description for your piece today!!
Your stunning piece reminds me of the beautiful cyclamen plant that I recently 'killed' with kindness, after it had rewarded me with an abundance of flowers!!
