Sea Star

I have been experimenting in Grayscale a little bit and although this is not devoid of color I like the subtle effects. Your eyes are drawn to shadow and contrast a lot more when working without a lot of color. I find that you have to ponder on the subject imagery more and fill in the blanks with imagination. Collage Noir!

  3. It IS amazing how the absence of color makes your notice subtle differences in patterns and textures. Beautiful, Lori! Hugs, Terri xoxo

  4. Collage Noir: too funny. I was drawn immediately to the top star fish, which I might have missed had this been in a different color palette. Wonderful interpretation of a sea scape.

  5. Funny how the eye works - I didn't spot that face for ages, yet she is so big! My eye was certainly drawn to the turtle first then I followed the pearl bubbles across the page...

  6. Wow, the digital collage is still kind of a mystery to me. I think I'm still on the very basics of photoshop. You do such nice work and the B&W is intriguing.

  11. I love this. As I first looked and saw the top layers, I thought, "how unusual for Lori to do a piece without a face or figure in it." But then she emerged before my eyes like a sea creature emerging from the depths.
Once again, a superb piece of art!

  13. I really liked looking at this, to see what I could see. When you are using just these colors, it's a bit like looking at clouds and besides seeing the main images, I could see other images in the shadowsthat someone else might not.
