Damselfly

This is my entry for the Mixed Media Monday challenge (personal symbols and myth). For me the exploration of the Divine Feminine and Nature are an ongoing theme in my art and my spiritual beliefs. It is what inspires me to create. I began a study of the Goddess about 12 years ago ( being disappointed with traditional religions) and found through myth a natural explanation of life and its mysteries. I try to follow the seasonal wheel and incorporate nature and its cycles in all that I do. This digital piece is an expression again of the feminine spirit in nature, feeling at home in her beauty and abundance.

  1. Wonderful! The images you've created in this series so far show a real understanding of the spirit of the goddess and how she manifests herself in the natural world. I just love them.

  5. So stunning! I love the layering and the dragonflys. . . And I agree with you - there is so much to learn from the religion of beauty and nature. I love how you connected them both in this one piece, Kristin xo

  14. You have captured the digital equivalent of the divine female. I've always seen your moon phase on your blog and was really intrigued by it. Nature does have cycles. That's evident in all aspects of nature. I was really taken by your post and your philosophy and would love to learn more about it. It's a bit ironic that you live in an area where the seasons are far less evident and demonstrative than other parts of the country.

Again, love this piece and what it stands for.
