Wildflowers

I decided to combine two challenges for this piece that interestingly were very similar in theme. The Digital Whisper challenge gave us the image of this vase to fill with something beautiful (for Mother's Day) and the Collage Obsession challenge gave us an image of a floral bouquet. I cropped and re-colored the flowers giving them a more wildflower look and placed them in the vase. I added text and the wistful young girl to create a vintage message of love and tribute to her mother.

  2. This piece is so ethereal. It reminds me of a young girl remembering her life as an older woman and vice versa.

  7. Once again, your art blows me away, Lori! At first I was grabbed by the rich color combination. Then the masterful blending techniques...all of the elements...it all came together in an exquisite piece of art. Bravo!

  8. I kept seeing more and more in this piece. Every time I would turn away, then look back at it, especially in the enlarged view, I would find even more things you have manipulated. Love the scratches. They seem to add sometime to the piece. Great, great digital art.

  11. This one reminds me of the dark wistful shadings of youth flowering into bud and bloom, and then fading away with the curl of a leaf into the dark again. It's truly beautiful.

  12. Outstanding! Your coloring of the wildflowers and their placement in this composition reminds me of the poetry of Wordsworth and his English Romantic kin. This piece is so exquisite and deep.
